Eligibility - To qualify, an individual must be the son, daughter
or grandchild of a member affiliated with the New Jersey Regional
Council of Carpenters, who will be a full-time student at an accredited
four-year college or university.
Criteria
- In awarding scholarships, the Scholarship Fund Application Committee
may consider any or all of the following: prior academic performance;
S.A.T. scores; extracurricular activities; letters of recommendation;
character, personal statement or interview.
Statement
of Non-Discrimination - The awarding of scholarships shall be
non-discriminatory, and shall be made without regard to race,
religion, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual preference,
age or physical handicap.
Application
Procedure - Applications for scholarships shall be made on forms
and in accordance with the procedures developed by the Application
Commitee. With the exception of the initial two scholarships,
it is anticipated that notices inviting applications will be made
in the fall, and that all applications should be completed by
April 15th of the next year. Scholarships will be awarded after
a student has been accepted to a school, but in no event later
than the August 1st preceding the academic year to which the scholarship
pertains.
Suspension,
Expulsion, etc. - If a Recipient of a scholarship is suspended,
expelled or otherwise terminated from the college, voluntarily
or involuntarily, during an academic year, any scholarship provided
will be revoked as of the first day after termination, and the
Trustees shall inform the Recipient and the college in writing
of such revocation.

EXPENSES AND PAYMENTS
Qualifying Expenses - Scholarships will be awarded only for tuition,
books, educational supplies, fees, room and board.
Payment
- Scholarship payments will be made directly to the institution
providing education or education related services to the Recipient.
Scholarship amounts will not be paid to the Recipient.

IV
RECIPIENT'S REPORTS
A Recipient will be required to furnish
to the Scholarship Fund an annual summary of his/her activities
at the College or University, and will be required to submit official,
verified copies of grade reports, academic credit hours and other
reports as the Trustees deem appropriate within 30 days after
such reports become available. For example, at the close of each
semester the Recipient shall send to the Trustees a verified,
official transcript of his/her grades and courses taken for that
academic period. Recipients will be required to maintain at least
a B-average each semester, and must maintain full-time student
status. If a Recipient fails to furnish the required reports,
or if the Trustees become concerned with the authenticity and/or
frequency of such reports, the Trustees shall immediately suspend
all payments to the Recipient, investigate the Trustees concerns,
and take any other appropriate action.

V
RENEWAL
Except if indicated at the time of the award, a scholarship
will be for each of the four years of the Recipient's college
education, provided they continue to meet all eligibility rules
and requirements.
Article
VI
REVOCATION
A Recipient may have his/her scholarship revoked for any of the
following:
a. Poor Academic performance;
b. Expulsion or suspension by the College;
c. Voluntary withdrawal by the Recipient;
d. Conviction of the Recipient of a felony or misdemeanor;
e. Falsification in the application process or reports thereafter;
f. Failure to file reports under Article IV after notification
of such failure.

VII
RULES
The Scholarship Fund's Trustees shall adopt any Rules necessary
or helpful to carry out the objectives of the Fund.
