As you keep track of your earnings over the course of the year, remember that your calendar 2008 benefit contributions will have to reach these totals to qualify for benefit Levels 1, 2 and 3 in the plan year starting in April 2009.
Retirees who purchase coverage at the contribution rate, as well as those who are eligible to increase their coverage, will be required to pay to the new rates for levels 1 and 2. Level 3 must be paid at the premium rate. Those who purchase the $111 Retired Health Benefit Plan are not affected. The current contribution levels are as follows:

Remember, this year's contributions will determine your coverage for next year. You have all of calendar year 2008 to reach the levels that will determine your benefits in the plan year beginning April 1, 2009. Any contributions over the $6,500 Level 3 threshold will be considered "bank monies" and will carry forward for a two year period.
